What To Do About High Blood Pressure

There are quite a few things you can do to naturally lower your blood pressure. There are also numerous forms of medicine you could take to ensure your blood pressure stays as low as possible for your body. But you MUST keep the right perspective instead of relying solely upon medicine.

A Good Diet
First of all, you should focus on eating a diet that is low in fat and cholesterol. This is your best defense against high blood pressure.

If you can incorporate healthy food into your life as something natural, you will find that you can lower your blood pressure at least a little bit simply by eating the right foods.

This is an important thing to do, and you should start right now. Eating healthy food is something that can help your body, and it is something that you have to keep up, and you should not think of this as only a short-term diet, but a life-long change so you can change the metabolism of your body.

Bad Habits Die Hard
If you have been in the habit of eating foods that aren't good for you, you will find that it may take some time for a healthy diet to make a real difference. But you should never give up, because it is something you can enjoy for the rest of your life.

You should also be sure that you get some exercise. Don't start off wildly, but begin slowly so you can keep it up. Be sure to focus on the fact that your pulse should never go above a level of 220 beats per minute minus your age. So if you're 35, like myself, you should consider your maximum pulse to be 185. If you're 45, your maximum pulse is 175 etc.

Also, consider that you burn the most fat at 70% of your maximum pulse. So you should calculate 70% of your maximum pulse. If your maximum pulse is 185 you burn the most fat around a pulse of 129. You MAY, of course, begin with having a pulse of 135-140 when you do exercise because it is something new for your body, but you will pretty soon see an improvement if you maintain the habit of exercising.

Beyond Diet and Exercise
However, even though you may be eating the right things and getting proper exercise, you might still have to deal with high blood pressure.

You should bear in mind that you have abused your body with bad habits for some time, and you need to have some time for your body to heal. You need to take the time to get your body back to where it should be.

When you have high blood pressure it's a good idea to seek advice from your doctor when you engage in diet and exercise to ensure you have the right advice on your specific form of blood pressure. There might be a need to condition some form of blood pressure medication.

Some will turn to alternative techniques, such as acupuncture and massage that can be used to lower your blood pressure. Look into whatever option feels best, and choose whatever fits you best.
